My name is Richard F. Barber, I'm a painter and I now live in Anshan City in the Province of Liaoning, Northern China, with my wife Xiaomin and my daughter Sunxin. I moved to China in 2004 and have now made my home here in China. Since I have been here I have met many very good and some very famous Chinese artists, and I'm now a member of the Shenyang & Liaoning Institute of Fine Art.
Western styled art is a very hard market to break into in China, because it holds it's own traditonal style of art very close to it's heart, but there are plenty of art schools and classes that teach the Western style of Classical art, with some very good teachers.
My own art is what I discribe as realistic but not photographic, with varied subject matter, some landscape ,cityscape, seascape, figurative, still life and portraits, a bit of a mixture, like they say veriety is the spice of life I hope you like what you see and maybe be tempted to buy something .
